Introduction
If you want to take your game to the next level you’ll want to make sure that your gear is up to scratch. Different pads can have all sorts of different characteristics, and finding the one that’s right for you can greatly enhance your comfort and performance.
To help you find the mousepad that’s right for you we’ve been looking at the stuff that the pros are using. What you’re looking at are the most used mousepads in the professional Fortnite scene. We’ll take a deeper look at every pad and highlight the most important features and characteristics so that we can help you find the perfect mousepad for you.

In the body of the article itself, we go over the five most popular pro products in no particular order and, when relevant, we also give you some extra options in the form of products that fall just outside of the top 5 or are otherwise relevant.
What makes a mousepad good for Fortnite?
Fortnite pros use a wide variety of pads, but they do have one thing in common across the board: all of them are at least large sized pads. That’s something that we’ve seen in every game that we’ve analyzed so far, and it makes sense as well.
The average eDPI of professional players is much lower than that of most ‘casual gamers’, which means that they need a bigger surface to execute large sweeping motions with their mouse. You can take a look at our Fortnite Settings & Options guide to see the average eDPI and sensitivity of professional players. If you find that your overall sensitivity is way higher you might want to consider lowering it to get your aim to a more consistent level. Yes, aim is preference, but only up to a certain point. If moving your mouse 1mm in real life results in a 180 degree turn in the game there’s just no way that you can accurately aim at smaller objects in the game.
Aside from that we can also see that cloth pads are clearly in the majority here. That’s perhaps partially down to the fact that many companies don’t even make hard pads anymore, but it could also have something to do with the fact that cloth pads are easier to transport (doubly so if you’re using a large mousepad) and are, in general, less tough on your mouse feet. That being said: if speed is the name of the game for you it’s definitely a good idea to look at hard pads, since they can offer a much faster glide than cloth pads can.

ZOWIE G-SR-SE
If you know a bit about mousepads you might know that the Zowie G-SR is a very, very controlling mousepad with an extremely slow glide. This can lead people to think that the G-SR-SE is just a recolor of that pad with the same glide characteristics since the ‘SE’ stands for ‘Special Edition’ but that’s not the case at all.
The Zowie G-SR-SE is a pad that’s firmly in the ‘medium glide’ category, and it’s one of the best pads in the business at that. It gives you a very nicely balanced glide to allow you to make micro movements without it feeling as if you’re struggling through a swamp, but there’s enough control to make sure you don’t feel as if you’ve ventured onto an icy lake without ice skates.
If you’re looking for something that’s the ‘best of both worlds’ this is definitely a great pad to consider. One downside is the fact that it comes with a coating, so once the glide goes (this can take months or even years though, depending on how often you use it) you cannot restore it, but if you can live with that this is a great pad.
ZOWIE G-SR-SE
Used by 141 Fortnite players ()ZOWIE made a number of promises when they first unveiled the G-SR-SE Rouge, and from what I can tell they’ve delivered on all of them. The surface is smoother, the humidity resistance is better, and the foam is a little bit softer. The pad still feels every bit as consistent as it should be, though, and with its controlling medium glide (by this I mean that it’s pretty much a ‘medium’ pad, but it’s on the slower end of that spectrum) this Rouge offers an interesting glide experience for people who play tactical shooters or who just want a touch more control without losing out on gliding speed.
Pros
- Smooth surface
- Increased humidity resistance when compared to earlier versions, though it’s still not flawless at handling oils and sweat
- Firm, uniform gliding feeling thanks to the dense foam
Cons
- Design won’t be for everyone

Artisan Zero
If you have never ventured out looking for premium mousepads, you likely haven’t heard of Artisan. Artisan is a premium, enthusiast brand focused mainly on mousepads, so it’s understandable that a lot of gamers have never heard of them. Over the past year or two, however, the brand has been making big waves in the professional gaming scene, and the Fortnite scene is no exception to that.
The Artisan Zero focuses on providing a smooth mouse glide while emphasizing mouse control, but it isn’t a so-called ‘mud pad’. It is a soft-cloth mousepad made with polyester, so it feels really premium. However, it is important to mention that this mousepad is a bit expensive. The manufacturing process is very labor-intensive and the usage of premium materials also drives up the price.
We wouldn’t recommend this as your first mousepad, but this should be on your list for the future.
Artisan Ninja FX Zero Soft
Used by 66 Fortnite players ()The Artisan Zero is the control pad in the Japanese brand’s lineup, though that doesn’t mean that it’s a dedicated control mousepad. What you’re getting is a control-oriented mousepad with Artisan’s famous quality. If you’re looking for a top tier mousepad, you’ve got to look at Artisan.
Pros
- Great finishing
- Premium stitching
Cons
- Very expensive
- Availability can be an issue

Glorious 3XL
A lot of companies produce XL version of their mousepads, but Glorious have taken that whole concept up a notch and have created the table-sized 3XL. At a whopping 122 x 61 centimeters it’s by far the largest mousepad in this lineup (and, according to Glorious, in the entire world) so you can rest assured that you’ll never run out of space with this one.
This isn’t a gimmicky pad, though. It’s got stitched edges and a very smooth and consistent medium GLIDE. It’ll lay flat almost immediately due to the sheer size of it and once it’s in place it’s gonna be impossible to move it even if you’re doing crazy swipes every few seconds.
Having literally your entire desk consisting of mousepad gives you sort of a liberating feeling so if you are always looking for a bigger pad you should definitely check this one out. Due to the enormous size this obviously isn’t gonna cut it as a mousepad for people who go to LANs often though, and there are reports of the mousepad slowing down quite significantly after some months of usage. This happens to a lot of mousepads, but if you’re using a pad as basically a new desktop surface it’s good to know this upfront.
Glorious 3XL
Used by 11 Fortnite players ()If you want a mousepad that covers your entire desk surface (unless you have a huge desk) then the 3XL is a great option. It has nicely finished edges and a smooth surface for maximum comfort.
Pros
- Desk-sized pad means that you won’t even run out of mouse space
- Decent stitched edges
- Smooth surface
Cons
- Unwieldy and not very portable at all

Inked Gaming Custom
Gaming mousepads usually come in black and, if you’re lucky, a couple of extra colors and perhaps some limited edition designs. If you don’t like any of those designs and you want something that shows a bit more personality than a plain black pad you’re mostly out of luck, except if you play on an Inked Gaming Custom Mousepad.
There are a lot of companies that custom print mousepads, but most of those companies are using subpar office mats that can get irritating when used for long periods of time, and to top it off those materials usually aren’t good for sensor tracking either. Inked Gaming’s mousepads can be made with any image of your choice (as long as it’s within the brand’s terms of service of course)and are good for gaming, featuring a control-oriented glide that’s not unlike what you’ll find on ZOWIE’s G-SR-SE, for example.
These mousepads come in a variety of sizes and finishes (you can even choose between stitching or no stitching) so if you want a truly customized mousepad that fits your setup theme perfectly then Inked Gaming should be looked at.
Inked Gaming Custom Mousepad
Used by 10 Fortnite players ()If you want a completely custom-designed mousepad then the InkedGaming mousepads are a great choice. They get used by a bunch of professional players and offer customized pads at a very friendly price.
Pros
- Print any design you want on the mousepad
- Low price
Cons
- Quality control can be spotty

Razer Gigantus V2
Razer has delivered solid peripherals for esports, and mousepads are no exception. The Razer Gigantus V2 is the successor to the Gigantus. It’s quite different and objectively better than the last iteration if you ask us, but it’s good to know that this isn’t a direct successor when it comes to glide, as the V2 is more focused on control.
The Gigantus V2 offers a glide that is slick enough to allow for easy gliding without feeling like you’re grinding through sandpaper, but its rougher surface also makes it easier to control the mouse. This can be really handy while building as you are doing a lot of flicks, and when you need to be precise, the mousepad will help you do that too.
In short, the Razer Gigantus V2 is a great mousepad for Fortnite. It’s a very good mid-tier pad that’s available all throughout the world and stays consistent for a long time. It’s also available in different sizes so you can get the size that you need.
Razer Gigantus V2
Used by 112 Fortnite players ()If you’re looking for a pad that’s a bit more controlling without feeling murky or extremely gritty then this is definitely one to consider.
Pros
- Decent humidity resistance
- Decently thick and consistent foam
Cons
- Can move around (a bit) during particularly intense matches
- Stitched edges have been removed when compared to the V1

Logitech G640
The G640 is one of those pads that’s quite popular across a variety of games. It’s also perhaps the most ‘industry standard’ pad in this list due to its medium glide and standard size and thickness.
The G640 isn’t the most exciting mousepad in the world, and we wouldn’t recommend this to people who already know what they want when it comes to the overall glide and the characteristics of their mousepad, but as a starter pad this is an amazing option, doubly so because it’s made by Logitech and, as a consequence, available almost anywhere in the world.
With an MSRP that’s rather friendly on your wallet, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world if you decide that you want to move on to a surface that is more specialized, and if you happen to like the G640 (just like a ton of pros do) you’ve got yourself a reliable gaming mousepad.
Logitech G640
Used by 140 Fortnite players ()The Logitech G640 is the ideal ‘starting pad’ for people who aren’t quite sure what they want when it comes to mousepads thanks to its middle of the road glide.
Pros
- Excellent ‘middle of the road’ option when it comes to glide and thickness
Cons
- Edges start fraying after a while

Logitech G840
The Logitech G840 is the extended version of Logitech’s G640 mousepad. This is an ideal option for gamers who want a mousepad with average gliding characteristics in an extended size.
The surface of the G840 is the exact same as the surface of the G640, so the only difference between these two mousepads lies in the size.
Logitech G840
Used by 15 Fortnite players ()The Logitech G840 is the extended version of the G640, making it an ideal starting mousepad for people who are still figuring out what they want as far as the glide characteristics of their mousepad goes.
Pros
- Excellent ‘middle of the road’ option when it comes to glide and thickness
Cons
- Edges start fraying after a while
- Edges of the pad takes a while to flatten out

SteelSeries QcK+
SteelSeries mousepads are extremely popular across all games, and the QcK+ is one of the most popular pads from the brand’s offerings. What you’re getting here is a mousepad that has a glide that’s a little on the slower side (at least when compared to most ‘standard mousepads’ from other brands) in an inexpensive and very widely available package.
Aside from adding some limited editions versions and releasing versions with stitched edges (which the standard QcK pads don’t have) the QcK line has been unchanged for over a decade, and perhaps that’s also one of the keys to their success. These mousepads are available all across the globe (which is handy if you’re in a tournament or a LAN event and you need a new pad because something happened to your old one) and you know exactly what you’re going to get when you buy a QcK. It’s an extremely reliable performer.
SteelSeries QcK+
Used by 37 Fortnite players ()The QcK+ is SteelSeries’ ‘standard mousepad’, though the QcK line is a bit slower than what you’ll mostly see from ‘standard pads’, with the surface edging on control.
Pros
- Nice, controlling glide
- Very inexpensive; great value proposition
Cons
- Tends to gather dust and body oils quickly
- Thickness of only 2mm means that playing surface needs to be very flat

Best Mousepad for Fortnite – Conclusion
If we can take anything away from this list it’s that you’ll want a large pad that offers a medium to slightly controlling glide for Fortnite. This might be due to the fact that Fortnite professionals are very much into ultra lightweight mice, meaning that they want to counter the speed and smoothness of these mice with a bit of a controlling surface for those times where you have to be accurate (such as when sniping people in the distance) but of course that’s just a theory from our end.
You’ll also see that mousepad usage in the Fortnite scene is spread out across many different pads and that there’s no one ultra dominant product like you see in some other games. Fortnite pros are more keen on experimenting with their gear, so there’s a lot of movement in these product lists.
We hope that this list has been helpful to you. If you have any questions on any of these pads (or any other mousepad, for that matter) please feel free to reach out to us! We try to answer everyone.
